ITINERARY :
Day 1
Pickup from Amristar/ Chandigarh and drive to Dalhousie
Welcome aboard a wonderful Gateway to Dalhousie with The Travel Xperts. Today, you will be picked up from Amritsar/Chandigarh Airport/Railway station and transferred to Dalhousie. Quite a few Tibetan refugees have made a home in Dalhousie and there are painted rock carvings of Buddhist deities along the south side of the ridge. You can also visit the British-era churches of St John (1863) and St Francis (1894), set among the pines at opposite ends of the ridge. Unusually for a hill station, there are few truly steep roads, but Dalhousie is spread out far enough to be tiring. The market areas at Subhash Chowk and Gandhi Chowk are linked by lanes – Thandi Sarak (Cold Rd), and Garam Sarak (Hot Rd). The latter lane receives more sunshine. Arrive at the hotel, check in, and relax. Evening free for leisure activities. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2
Dalhousie Sightseeing
Today morning after a filling delicious breakfast, set out for a local sightseeing tour of Dalhousie. There are four beautiful churches in Dalhousie. These are St. Andrew’s Church and St. Patrick’s Church at Balun, St. Francis church at Subhash Chowk, and St.John’s Church at Gandhi Chowk.Subhash Baoli was at this enchanting spot surrounded by majestic trees, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose spent time in 1937, contemplating and meditating. Panchpula is a picturesque spot where a stream feeds a series of pools. A monument has been built here in memory of the freedom fighter, Sardar Ajit Singh. Kalatop wildlife sanctuary is home to the ‘ghoral’ and Himalayan black bear. Later visit Khajjiar – Often called India’s Switzerland, the exquisite glade of Khajjiar (1960m) has a circumference of about 5 km. Along with its fringes, thick forests of deodar climb the slopes, and snow-line rests above these woods. At Khajjiar there is a 12th-century temple dedicated to KhajjI Nag. Within the temple are life-size wooden images of the five Pandav brothers. Overnight at the hotel in Dalhousie.
